Vaccine maker Bharat Biotech on Monday said it has successfully developed India’s first vaccine candidate for Covid-19 in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) – National Institute of Virology (NIV).
Called Covax In, the indigenous, inactivated vaccine has also got approval from the Indian drugs regulator, Drug Controller General of India (DCGI), for conducting phase I and II human clinical trials that will begin across the country in July 2020, Bharat Biotech said.
